Pottery Experience Workshop – By Clay & Glaze
Location: Clay & Glaze - Maison Maati: Studio Pottery Pattanur

Spend an hour at the wheel and make something with your own hands. This 1-hour pottery workshop in Pondicherry is built for first-timers. No experience needed. Come as a couple, bring the kids, or come alone and just enjoy the quiet of working with clay.

Pick how you want to work:

• Wheel throwing (great for first-timers)
• Handbuilding using slab, coil and pinch methods

What happens in the session:

• A short intro to clay and how it behaves
• You make your own small pot, bowl or planter, start to finish
• We show you how a Clay & Glaze piece is actually made, from raw clay to the final glaze
• You will see the difference between studio pottery and mass-produced ceramics
• Time to take photos, ask questions and chat with our potters

• Complete beginners
• Couples looking for something different to do
• Parents with kids aged 10 and above
• Travellers and anyone who likes making things

Please read before you book:

• We give you an apron, but wear clothes you do not mind getting clay on
• You will not take your piece home the same day. It is not fired or glazed in this session. Think of it as an experience, not a product
• If you want your piece fired, glazed and shipped to you, that costs extra. Ask us and we will tell you the price
  
• If you’d like your moments captured, please note that we do not provide photographers. You’re welcome to bring your own photographer for the session.
